A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
05.02.2000
Dear Viewers,
As promised, every quarter, at a time calculated to be the most inconvenient to you, we have a fund drive in which we ask for small donations of a few dollars from viewers like you. Well, sure enough, that time has come again, and once more we ask you to loosen your purse strings to give some money to a website that is supported by your dollars.
What do you get for your money? Simply put, you get piece of mind. spudWorks, in an effort to make the world a better place, hires parolees of violent crimes and film students to trains them in the high tech and entertainment fields to keep them from returning to their lifes of crime. With out your donations, any one of our murders could prey on someone in your family (and remember that we still have last quarters pledge’s addresses) or our film students could steal your care for money and "meaningful life experience".
Frankly, we think it would be sad to see our attempts to do good in this jail ridden society ended because you could not send in a few dollars in cash or money order form. Such attempts have included:
- Giving change to bums (homeless) along Broadway, St. Marks Place, and Wall St near the spudWorks office.
- Supporting the local music scene by not trying to avoid the cover charge.
- Buying ample amount of alcohol to keep the staff docile.
Really, the question is, do you think it has been worth it? At spudWorks, we believe the answer to that is a firm yes. So please, even if times are tight, because we know they're not, see if you can't support spudWorks and keep our programs alive.
- Colin Ferm
MAIL this to a friend. They'll thank you for it later.
