JUNK MAIL AND A REPLY
01.12.2001
The following letter was received the evening of Jan 12, 2001. What follows the letter is Mr. Ferm's reply to the junk mail.
Dear Colin,
Due to your online contributions regarding Perl, I thought you may be interested in learning about CodeCharge - our new product that generates dynamic web sites in ASP, ColdFusion, JSP, PHP and Perl. (I obtained your contact info at URL DELETED)
We've just announced the availability of pre-release version of this promising product and I would like to invite you to visit (URL DELETED) for preview.
I'm also attaching our today's Press Release, which I hope is of interest to you and/or your audience.
Regards,
Konrad Musial

Dear Mr. Musial,
After having read your letter and considering your offer, I have decided not to take you up on your offer. Frankly, I can't think of anything I'd rather do than download a piece of software over a 28kbps modem, yet something inside me still compels me to say no.
Perhaps I mis-read what it is my viewers are looking for at spudWorks, but as far as your request to publish your press release, I will again have to say no and leave it to the lesser publications such as the New York Times and Washington Post to do your dirty work for you.
While I do appreciate that you looked at other pieces of writing which I have done to determine whether or not your product would be of interest to me, I must admit that you are mistaken in your assumption. I honestly couldn't give a damn though rest assured that this has nothing to do with you or your fine co-workers at Yes Software. Still I must decline your fine offer.
Lastly, all email that comes into spudWorks is usually personal email from friends, family, and the occasional lover, or fans of the site that resides at the aforementioned domain. As I would prefer for it to stay this way I ask that you no longer contact me with any matters concerning my trial usage of software.
Thank you for your time.
- Colin
MAIL this to a friend. They'll thank you for it later.
