Rich Man Causes Poor Cops' Woe

One of New York's Finest, Captian Mike E. Griswald, was at home yesterday with a bizarre injury caused by some bizarre circumstances and an unlikely attacker.

The circumstances in question took place the night of the 27th aboard the MTA 6 train at the end of the line at city hall around 4:30 am. The suspect in question was none other than Village bad boy and spudWorks President & CEO Colin Ferm.

"I saw this guy, you know, all passed out in the doorway lying between the train and the platform and wanted to see if I could help," explained the intrepid investigator. "I knelt down next to him and poked him to see if he was all right."

But that's when that nights peace was broken. Ferm leapt alive and started chewing the curious captain's ankle allegedly shouting, "The rabbit's back and he doesn't drink vodka."

spudWorks, the company that teething Ferm started, had no comment except to deny that it was him who was involved and that they were looking into the allegations.

...

From President & CEO Colin Ferm:

First and foremost, I would like to state that every word of that story is completely inaccurate and in desperate need of fact checking. Not only was I at home and asleep in my bed by a conservative 3am, and therefore unable to be chewing on a policeman's leg at that same time, but I did not even have a drop to drink. That night anyway.

Were it any other paper besides the insatiable New York Post, I would be forced to file suit and have the court system carry out a swift brand of justice for the liable which they have written. Even the headline is inflammatory. I am far from being a "Rich man." It is well known that spudWorks is a viewer supported site and that because of the nature of this business we have barely enough to cover extra expenses, much less make me a rich man.

I would like to point out that even though spudWorks has been receiving more attention recently because of our on going sexual harassment suits and Ms. Walter's out of control behavior at several industry parties that are best not gotten into, we, this company and I, are still as dedicated as ever to providing content that is, at the very least, better than the tripe printed in the average Post edition.

To attempt to rebut the article that is not only wrong but malicious for too long would lend too much credence to such a thing, so I'll leave you with this one thought: Even if it were true, would it keep you from reading this?
