No Rejections, Just 4,200 Sweet, Sweet Words
04.13.2008

So... I was thinking that I was going to write today. You know... it's Sunday. What the fuck else am I going to do? It's not like I'm seeing anyone, yeah?

Except for one thing. At this point, I'm fucking addicted to The Wire. And since they all arrived on Friday night, it's been pretty much all that I've been doing.

So today I thought, "Okay, I'm going to watch the rest of the one I fell asleep to last night." Then that turned into the next episode on the disc and then the next three on the next disc. Fortunately, I had enough discipline to quit after that. Tragically, it was already four o'clock in the afternoon.

So, of course, I'm thinking that it's going to be another one of those days where I get dick all done. Except... it's ten at night and I'm forty-two hundred words the richer.

This is all World Building like I said I would do before. I'm working on what I've been calling The Age of War. And Jesus H. Christ is it coming together. I've got political intrigue, military, battles, court cases, civil revolts... man... I don't know what I don't have in this sucker.

It's clocking in at over eighteen thousand words which, for those of you who don't know standard manuscript formating, is like seventy-five pages. So it's starting to get a little hefty.

Now it's still got some way to go. I'm working on the fifth chapter but I've got three more planed out. So between it all, it might end up to be nearly a hundred and fifty or a hundred and eighty pages depending on how wordy I become. But to let you know about what's happened before, my first history book, A Short History of the Unified Republic of Stars clocked in at almost fifty thousand words and that was a hundred and eighty pages...

So... we shall see...

Anyway... Just wanted to share.

Hope you all had as good a weekend as I did.

MAIL this to a friend. They'll thank you for it later.
