I've finished another story, which is great. For me. I think. Right?
Anyway, I'm pretty happy about it.
It was begun a little after I started Environments and sort of percolated in the background the whole time. In fact, it actually uses characters from a perhaps-novel that I've started working on. It could very well be an early chapter.
The basic plot is two women, Moira (a doctor) and Susan (an adventurous flake) head into a plague town on the planet of Columbus. The plague basically eats away at the soft tissue of people's skin and is all around a bad thing. It effects nearly 80% of the population, though those who aren't effected seem to be almost at random. Moira and Susan try to figure out what it is...
That's pretty much it. It's kind of like a House episode, set in space, without lumbar punctures, MRIs, or antibiotics.
So... I guess it's nothing like House. Oh well...
I think it's still interesting.
In other news, I was bored on Saturday and turned Environments into a screenplay. Right now, it still kind of reads more like a stage play but I'll massage it as I have time.
It might be fun to shoot if I can get past my hatred of working with others.
Or if I can fool someone else into taking on the job.
The actual amount of special effects is nearly nothing. I think most of it can be done with well placed sound effects if anything and a dressed up warehouse.
It'd be cool to see it on screen.
Yeah.
And in more other news, I'm leaving Friday to go see the Space Shuttle (STS-118) launch. A week in Florida. Sweet.
So... you know... FYI.
Alrighty people. Cheers.
